How to Teach Literacy Centers Using Decodable Books!
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
In today's video I am showing you five ways to create literacy centers in your classroom that are aligned to the Science of Reading Research, using decodable books. In my opinion, there are a few requirements for successful literacy centers. First, they need to be no or low prep. You shouldn’t have to spend three hours planning every week to change your centers and activities. That’s not sustai...

Wow! Can I get more information on the instructional tripods please
Can't download your orthographic mapping because of click funnel banner which I can't remove.
I am not seeing a link for the decodable books. I was able to get the post it freebies (Thank you!) but not the books.
Would you please send me the link for the free download?
Where did you get the timer that makes that particular sound or is it set on your phone?
Hi Anna. Do you have the "Map It" worksheet on your white board anywhere to purchase? Thank you!
Hi Ana, Could you discuss the differences between Lexile Levels and F&P? Reading levels have faced criticism, and I want to use a data-driven approach to assess children and accurately determine their reading abilities. How can this be achieved without relying on the flawed non-scientific leveling system?

Hi Ana, can you please talk a little bit about Lexile Levels vs F&P and the accuracy of leveling books. If I wanted to go by the SoR and not leveled books to determine how well a child reads how do I do that? How can I ensure that the child is performing at a satisfactory grade level without relying on the flawed leveling system, which is not based on scientific evidence to determine a child's reading ability?
Love your products, I’ve order your books and used them daily. Thanks again.
Hi Anna, What about the Phonological Awareness curriculum? What age, grade, or reading level do I use that with?
I am a new subscriber and I absolutely love this channel. 🤍
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that!! ❤
You're AMAZING !!!!!! Thank you
When you are finished with this series, will you also do a video series on the other subcategories of linguistics?
Is there a way I can get CEU's for this Semantics course? Thank you for all you do.
This is amazing. I love how you explained this, and I love the idea of using open and closed sorts during GR
Hi Anna. I saw your website. I have a few questions regarding your subscriptions. Can I email you?
I just started following you. I no longer teach but it turns out that I was already using some of your strategies because I found these methods were the most effective. Btw, I was a foreign language teacher who taught a tonal language. These strategies definitely are the most effective!
Hello, I love the 4 day set up and explanation of these structured literacy lessons. However, there are phonological awareness activities that are missing, the ones about syllables. How could I go about including these during the week?
We are starting UFLI this coming year. I used your Lucky to Learn Phonics slides and a lot of the materials last year in First grade and LOVED IT!!!! I havent had any UFLI training yet, but the slides look boring. Do your slides match up at all? They were fabulous and my kids loved the routine.
Love this
yes
Great ideas of adapting balance literacy activities with decodables. Do you give kids feedback if you notice errors in the recording that they are listening back? I’m wondering how you are giving feedback so they don’t practice errors.
Excellent!!
I love it! Where can I find your my spelling work or other worksheets?
I clicked on the links in the description for info on the Back to School Bundles for 3rd and 4th grade, but there was not the first week of and the last week of for these grades. I do not want to purchase these and the items are not in the bundles. Can you clarify this?
Fabulous! Thank you for all you do!
I am so glad to have found your channel, god sent me the right way
What would you do for children with ld’s? We have about 15 minutes for rti
Thank you!
Yes we are!
Where can I find your curriculum! I'm definitely interested!

I paid for the package, but didn't receive it yet.
Hello Anna, The freebie link is not working. Can you help me?
Can these projects be used with 4th grade and can I use them with chapter/theme books?
This is Donelle Brown again. I contacted you a couple of years ago. I will be teaching a 3rd and 4th-grade combo class next year. Do you have a "Number Talk" activity that I can do on the first day of school with these grade levels?
I liked your teaching aid. Very helpful video.
So helpful and well explained!!!🙌🙌
Thank you so much!!!
Love your channel because you are fabulous! I am a science of reading teacher in Australia and I can tell you that decodable texts are only for students who are still learning the basic code and use rich texts for story structure , vocabulary, and reading comprehension for all students. So science of reading is all about the 5 components - not just phonics. . See the Reading League for great ideas! Thanks for your great enthusiasm!
I like this video< I would like to have a copy of the list you have on this video to be able to see the irregular high-frequency words>
As parents we are not looking for perfection we are looking for transparency. We are very involved in our children's education. Both are ADHD and one is dyslexic. The truth is some kids were passed along and can not read. Unfortunately finger pointing is the American way LOL. As we all know, greed seeps into every fiber of society including education. I think the the pandemic really shocked those who were not paying attention and the results showed deficiencies in our education system. The bottom line is learning is not one format for every child.
Thank you. How do we get the post it note freebee
Hi there! There is a link in the description of the video :). Hope that helps.
What’s the use case for this? Just teaching word structure, or is this part of treatment for a speech impediment or something?
Anna, thank you for your great ideas on center work using a previous book the kids read. I can't wait to do it with my kiddos. I love your videos. You are the best! ❤
Thank you sooooo much!!!
I love this video. Please do not forget the freebies......please 😊. I intend to implement. Thanks
Hey there. The link is in the description. Hope that helps.
This was soooooo helpful!!! You are speaking 100% truth!! You gave a lot of practical and solid advice!! THANK YOU!!!
Amazing explanation😊
Great Videos, How to i get a word mapping board I need about 4 of them
Do you have representatives that go to schools to explain the EASE system? My school is looking to adopt a new reading program, and I like what I see in your videos.
We'd love to connect you with a representative in your area, if you email info@structuredliteracy.com our service team will be able to get you in touch someone to work in brining Structured Literacy into your schools! - SERVICE TEAM
